Michael Sheron Starks was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 19, 2023. Michael was born on May 20, 1953, to the late Marry Elizabeth Starks in Portsmouth, VA and was the oldest of 3 children.
At an early age, Michael was baptized and received Jesus Christ becoming a member of St. John Baptist Church
Michael was a former employee of The Circle Restaurant and Roger Browns restaurants in Portsmouth, VA. Later in life, Michael became the primary caregiver for our mother and did a fantastic job of making sure our mom received everything she needed. Michael was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and had many friends in the Brighton community.
Michael attended Portsmouth Public Schools and graduated from I.C. Norcom High School.
Michael is predeceased in death by his mother, Mary E. Starks, grandparents, Reuben and Mary L. Starks and uncle, Thomas E. Starks, Sr. and leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Deborah B. Jenkins (Marc Sr.) of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Grover D. Starks (Michelle) of Virginia Beach, VA; eight nieces, Nikki Brown of Indianapolis, IN; Aryele Starks of Virrginia Beach, VA; Kanesha Baggett of Charlotte, NC; Breyana Hawks (Kenay) of Chesapeake, VA; Khori Hawks of Chesapeake, VA; Zekeia Marshall (Daquan) of Virginia Beach, VA; Whitley Starks and Ashley
Starks, of Virginia; two great nieces, Monica Brown of Indianapolis, IN; Nazyrah Jenkins, of= Indianapolis, IN; two great nephews, Haizon Gilliam of Indianapolis, IN; Keyshon Jenkins of New Orleans, LA; one great-great niece Rmoni Brown-Drake, of Indianapolis, IN; four cousins, Tina Starks, of Raleigh, NC; Anthony Brown of Raleigh, NC; Ruben A. Starks of Portsmouth, VA; Thomas E. Starks, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA.
