World Cup Opening Ceremony: J.Los fug costume, Pitbulls capri pants & more!

During yesterday’s FIFA World Cup kick-off, I ended up watching a segment on MSNBC about just how HUGE the World Cup is all over the world. Apparently, about 46% of the population of the whole world will watch all or some of the World Cup games. Which makes it difficult for me to say “Eh, I don’t really care.” For what it’s worth, I’m equal-opportunity ambivalent. I don’t care that much about any sport. But I’ll try to be delicate to all of the football fans out there.

These are some pics from the opening ceremony in Sao Paulo, just before the Brazil-Croatia game. Jennifer Lopez performed with her friend Pitbull and a Brazilian singer called Claudia Leitte. Leitte, J.Lo and Pitbull recorded “We Are One (Ole Ola)” as the official song for the Sao Paulo games, and that’s what they performed live yesterday. Apparently, there were a few little glitches during the performance (especially as Pitbull and J.Lo were trying to be rising up out of their little ball cocoon).

I’m kind of meh on both J.Lo and Claudia’s costumes – I guess they’re supposed to be wearing the colors of Brazil’s flag, which is green, blue, gold and white? It might have actually looked better/cleaner if they had coordinated costumes between the three of them though. Because Pitbull and his MOM CAPRIS totally stole all the thunder. You’ve got to love Pitbull. He was all, “Y’all, I’m about to bust out my highwaters. Sh-t’s about to get real. Where my white loafers at?”

Also, this happened during the Opening Ceremony:
